What are SOPs?

Standard Operating Procedures exist as a set of written instructions for working in labs. Some labs have very general SOPs as the lab usage is variable. Others have much more specific details. It is important that you read and adhere to the SOPs that are in the lab that you are using. They will provide any detail necessary for you to understand before you begin collecting data, and will also identify who to contact and what to do in case of an emergency
